Arulmigu Mariamman Temple at Samayapuram, 20 km from the city in Trichy Chennai National Highway is one among the important abodes where sakthi worship is predominant. The village is also known as kannanur, kannapuram or vikramapuram and it was the residing capital of the Hoisala ruler, veera someswara in the 13th century. The temple is open to the devotees for worship from 5 A.M to 9 P.M without any break.
